Once in a while, someone like Zoidberg or K-Roll asks us how we’re all doing here.

My daily routine has ups and downs, and I have faced some personal challenges in the last two years, but it is thoroughly humbling to read some of the profound battles (be it social, family, medical, etc.) that some Oppos must go through.

Yet another reminder to take life a day at a time, and be grateful for what I / we do have. A day in peace, with family, a roof over my head, a job to go to and food on the table. And, of course, cars in the garage and a blog to put shitposts on, but that goes without saying.

A good evening to all and may the wheels spin forever for you.

CRX mid-engine V6 tube frame swap for your time.

In 30+ years I’ve only owned a truly manual car for 3 months (a Ford Escort ZX2) . But the 355 F1 also needed downshift blips, and it was fun to nail it perfectly.

Truer words are rarely spoken. And these days nicer words are rarely spoken...

Heres an automotive related story. Last weekend, my dads neighbor was helping my dad and I adjust the drum brakes since we overtightened him. Wanting to repay us for helping him bleed the brakes on his wifes vehicle the previous weekend, he did our parts store run for new clips. In the process he accidently misplaced a part he took for reference. He felt awful and apologized profusely. I just smiled and reassured him it was all good, and that h is help was still appreciated. Li ke the reasons you mentioned I wasnt going to loose sleep over it. He seemed shocked I wasnt upset.

TLDR: Life’s too short to be mad all the time.

A: Hope everything is going well for you and all Oppos, and people in general. If not at the moment, hope it will turn around soon.

B: nice CRX...

If only Honda had participated with Pontiac and Toyota in the affordable mid-engined market...

If only they did it now, in leu of Pontiac (gone) or Toyota (doing other things)

A CR-X without any body panels and with the engine in the back... I thought that was a Fiero from the thumbnail.

Help me

I had to do the shitshow that was my annual review. Things I actually put in writing:

- It is clear that questioning whether something is beneficial, safe, or even legal will result in retaliation.
- It has been made clear that speaking honestly or pointing out that new management is engaging in bald-faced lies will result in retaliation.
- I have been calling attention to unlawful activities for a long time and nothing has been done.
- N obody is telling me what the fuck is going on, because of open hostility and threats from the new management toward remote people.
- Despite me putting together plans, setting up meetings, documenting everything, and inviting alternative proposals, we’ve gone massively backwards and that’s only accelerating.

At least I’ll have a slam dunk of an NLRB complaint. Since my ‘generous’ stock grants are already  worth less than half they were at issuance (not vest,) and my ‘bonus’ (also issued in stock) is worth less than half it was supposed to be worth.

I want to know more about this CRX. I’m intrigued.

Side note: I hope that CRX was already beat up when the person did that.  They’re so difficult to find in any shape these days.

I had an escort zx2 5spd drove it like a rally car. Those things could take a beating.

In that car you can probably just ankle-roll from the brake right onto the gas. I do it that way on my E46, the pedals are plenty close.

Still need to sort out the damage on the roof of my car.

Its like any minor set back in life gives me anxiety and overshadows anything that’ s good.

To be honest driving a manual car on a regular basis in bay area traffic is akin to water boarding levels of torture.

I drove my Mazda 3 into SF one day over the bay bridge. I got an actual cramp in my leg getting through the toll plaza. Never again.

My commute lets me stay in gear for most of the time (Silicon Valley suburbia) , but I can imagine SF would be pretty annoying.

The Bay Area has great access to fantastic mountain roads, though.

And S660, although ‘Muricans can’t import those.

One of my fondest memories as a teenager was wringing out my uncle steve’s RX7 on old San Jose Road. I taught my cousin how to do “power slides” and then he promptly spun the car and we ended up going backwards into some ones yard. Opps.

Sorry to hear. When life repeatedly hands you setbacks and challenges, it’s hard to strive for the bright spots.

Hope it’s smoother sailing ahead.

I have never been able to make heel toe work very well...clunky at best. M y compromise is to give a big stab of throttle so by the time I can get it in gear and on the brakes the revs match, sort of...

Life is definitely too short to blow up at every little thing.

People who do that are miserable.  Same with people who feel like everyone in society is out to get them.  They tend to be the a-holes, ostensibly by necessity, but in reality it’s all in their heads.
